Laura’s photographs of her mom’s depression and beauty obsession are her most collected work. These images, which date from the late 70s/early 80s are in the collections of the International Center of Photography, Brooklyn Museum, Museum of the City of New York and the Queens Museum.

Laura started a new series of mother portraits in Spring 2013.  She says, ‘My mom is happier now she has dementia. She seems to have lost the ability to worry like she used to.’
