I love You Trees

I Love You Trees

For the way you scatter light at our feet

For the way you hold your arms up to God

For the tinkling, scrunching, rustling sound

As if you were swishing by in a taffeta dress

For the way you brighten every street you inhabit

For the shelter you provide for the chittering sparrows

For the way you soothe me and root me when I am out of sorts

For the way you make me less afraid of life

By your constant renewal
