Gruel, the milky white juice that you get when you boil organic rolled oats in a lot of water for 15 minutes (and then strain off and discard the oats) seems to be the key to keeping Laura’s stomach happy. When she drinks a little before and after every enema, her stomach is less upset, she can eat more and is generally happier. Recently Laura confessed she stopped making her 6.30am gruel a couple of weeks ago, which probably started her on a downward spiral of stomach problems. I wished she would have spoken up sooner. Now I make the gruel the night before (it lasts 12 hours) so it is ready for her 7am enema.
